Kos has witnessed an influx of migrants from Libya and Syria reaching its shores from Turkey this year.
According to data released by the Hellenic Coast Guard, migrants arriving at eastern Aegean Sea islands has tripled in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same period last year.
With Greece and Italy being the first stop for migrants seeking to reach Europe and escape certain death in their war torn countries, the European Commission has tabled a proposal for moving 40,000 refugees to other countries, a measure that the UK and France have already said they would not allow.
According to the UK’s Daily Mail, British families on summer holiday, “relax on sun loungers on the beach, just a yards away scores of migrants have set up camp, sleeping on cardboard boxes with rubbish strewn everywhere.”
One British couple on holiday with their grandchildren from Birmingham told the Daily Mail…
“We won’t be coming back if it’s like a refugee camp again next year.”
This is all fine and good, but least we forget how this entire migrant situation came about.
It was the making of the UK’s very own David Cameron, along with his US, EU and NATO partners who, in 2011, decided to bomb the crap out of Libya, overthrow Gaddafi, and try to gain access to Libya’s rich energy reserves. We all know how that turned out.
Syria has been an even greater disaster that Libya.
Once again, David Cameron and Co., in their obsession to remove Assad and get a gas pipeline from Qatar and Saudi Arabia run through Syria to Europe, decided to fund and arm “good guy rebels” (we call them ISIS now) to begin a huge civil war.
While we appreciate the British families’ complaints with the migrant situation, blaming Greece or the migrants themselves is a non-starter.
Your very own UK government made this mess, and now the you are seeing, up close while on summer holiday, the effects of the death and destruction your western “exceptional” foreign policy delivers.
So to the families on holiday in Kos, bitching and whining about the migrants in the streets trying to survive brutal conditions which were not of their making…SUCK IT!
Next time your bone head leaders decide to overthrow, destabilize, bomb, or color revolutionize a country tell them to stop!

Migrants from war-torn Afghanistan and Syria have taken shelter under arcades on the seafront in Kos town as they wait to receive security clearance for onward travel to mainland Greece.
The wealthiest groups have smart phones and credit cards and are staying in local hotels for 10-15 euros a night – while the rest are camped out on the harbour side and at a derelict hotel on the edge of Kos town.
Straggly migrants straight from the boats march straight through the town with backpacks on to join friends and register for their travel permits at the police station.
Barefoot toddlers in filthy clothes play among debris while moustached men sit staring out to sea as they plan the next stage of their journey to Athens and the rest of Europe – including some heading for Britain.
Young Afghan mothers in head scarves, changing their babies and washing their children’s clothes in the sea, share the promenade with tourists who sit uncomfortably on the beachfront.
The harbourside has become an unofficial washing line with baby clothes and grubby-looking scarves laid out along the shoreline. Baby bottles and towels litter the area.
