More Guns more crime? Mass stabbings rival mass shootings

Every time a mass shooting occurs in the U.S. the liberals start a crusade against gun ownership. The student walk outs as of late (with Obama tweeting his support) are just another occurrence of this. They are under the delusion that if more anti-gun laws were passed that the result would be a decrease in violence or that if no guns were present in America that mass killings would not take place. Since mere common sense eludes these people, I will provide some real life examples.

The most recent occurred on February 15th as reported by South China Morning Post

Eight people were killed in a violent attack in China’s restive region of Xinjiang on Tuesday, mainland media reported.

A news portal of the Hotan government reported on early Wednesday morning that three knife-wielding men attacked and stabbed multiple people in Pishan county. Police shot dead the three attackers.

Ten people were injured in the attack. Among them, five were certified dead after being sent to hospital.

Social order has been restored and an investigation is ongoing, the report said. The identity of the attackers were not disclosed.

And just a few days prior to that another tragedy occurred in China also reported by South China Morning Post.

A woman was killed and a dozen people were injured in a knife attack at a busy shopping mall in Beijing on Sunday, amid tighter security ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.

The woman died in hospital after emergency treatment, the Beijing Public Security Bureau said in a statement. Three men and nine women were still being treated in hospital, none of them for life-threatening injuries.

A 35-year-old suspect from Henan province, identified only by his surname Zhu, was arrested at the scene and has been detained. Police said the man had carried out the attack because of a “personal grievance”, without elaborating.

The attack took place at the Joy City Mall in Xidan – one of the Chinese capital’s busiest shopping areas located about 2.5km (1.5 miles) from Tiananmen Square – at around 1pm.

BEIJING –  A man said to be mentally ill attacked 20 people with a knife in southwest China, killing two, authorities said.

The suspect, identified as Chen Guangliang, 30, was detained following Sunday afternoon’s attack along a roadway in Guizhou province, according to a statement posted on a local government website.

Two of the 20 injured people taken to a hospital died, the Zhenning County public security bureau said. The remaining 18 were in stable condition as of Monday, authorities said.

That last one was a real doozy!

Gun control didn’t prevent these tragedies. If anything, the presence of an armed citizenry would have resulted in these attackers being taken down earlier before being able to kill and injure so many. Additionally, violence on a large scale, in these cases, did not require guns at all.
