The new, healthy Coca-cola Life

Introducing Coca-cola Life.  The newest, healthy soda drink to enter the market that will give us the coca-cola taste we need without the health risks of drinking classic coke. The product is reported to taste like Classic Coca-Cola, and is currently available in Argentina, Chile, and the United Kingdom.

What makes Coke Life so healthy?  It contains stevia, a natural and calorie-free sweetener to give our water all the freshness of cola without the calories.

It’s now common knowledge that sugar filled soda is a main contributor to our society’s out of control obesity problem. Coke, as the largest sugar drink maker in the world, bears the brunt of the criticism. Anti-sugar sentiment has made people skeptical of classic Coca-Cola, and many fear that artificial sweeteners found in Diet Coke and Coke Zero. And with soda sales on the decline for the past nine years, it’s about time we made our cola’s healthy like water.

Fear no more soda drinkers, Coke Life to the rescue:

“Sweetened with a blend of sugar and naturally sourced stevia leaf extract, a 330ml can of Coca-Cola Life contains 89 calories and will feature striking green branding that will contrast with the familiar red packaging,” The Guardian writes. “A can of standard Coca-Cola contains 139 calories.”

Stevia has become popular with the health crowd, but it’s unclear how popular it can be in mainstream culture. Until then we will have to settle for that free “water” stuff as a healthy drink alternative.
