Vicky Nuland said it best, “F*** the EU.” Gazprom will send all gas to Europe via Turk Stream

All gas currently delivered to South Europe via Ukraine is history. Once complete, Turk Stream will be the only game in town.

Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller made the announcement on Wednesday and Europe just had a major coronary.

Via The Saker blog…

The Europeans appear to be shell-shocked. Maros Sefcovic, the European Commission’s vice president for energy union, declared that this decision made “no economic sense”. As if the nonstop economic and political warfare waged by the EU against Russia did make any sense!

I can image the faces of the Eurobureaucrats when Alexei Miller, the head of Gazprom, told them that “now it is up to them to put in place the necessary infrastructure starting from the Turkish-Greek border” while the Russian Energy Minister Novak added that “the decision has been made, we are diversifying and eliminating the risks of unreliable countries that caused problems in past years, including for European consumers.”

In other words, the EU just lost it all and so did the Ukraine. Keep in mind that the EU has no other options then to purchase the Russian gas from Turkey while Russia can simply do without gaz exports to Europe because China has already signed a contract covering the exact same amount of gaz and possibly much more.

The European Union…what a bunch of incompetent tools.

Under normal, everyday circumstances, all these guys and gals in Brussels would be promptly fired for the way they have handled the Ukraine crisis, from day one.

Best of all is the comment from the European Commission’s vice president for energy union, Maros Sefcovic, saying that this decision made “no economic sense”.

That’s rich! Nothing the EU has done since Vicky Nulands’ cookies in Maidan coup, makes sense for Europe.

The EU did have a choice. When the US made a grab for Ukraine, the leaders of Europe could have done what leaders do, and told Washington to put a sock in it. They did not.

Europe could have been open to having Ukraine be a part of both the Customs Union, and in an Associations Agreement with the EU. Remember how technocrat Barroso handled that compromise offered up by Russia:

European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso has reiterated the EU’s official position that Ukraine cannot simultaneously have a free trade area with the EU and be a member of the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

“Agreements on the establishment of a deep and comprehensive free trade area between the EU and Ukraine contain obligations that need to be fulfilled. We discussed this issue with President [Viktor] Yanukovych today. Our positions were clearly defined…One country cannot at the same time be a member of a customs union and be in a deep common free-trade area with the European Union. This is not possible,” Barroso said.

Europe opted for conflict instead of diplomacy.

Full of ego, evil, and a lust for money and power, this bankrupt group of nations, brilliantly decided to bully and ridicule Russia into submission.

Now European taxpayers (already broke under eight years of austerity and deposit haircuts) will be bailing out Ukraine forever…and have to pay transit fees to Turkey for their much needed gas, which could have been delivered directly to Bulgaria’s doorstep, via the now scrapped South Stream.

Europe could ship LNG from America at 5-8 times the price of Russian gas, but oh wait…now that Obama and the Saudi’s have decided to drop the price of oil, to once again try and destabilise Russia, LNG’s and shale drilling are all bust. SNAP!

Victoria Nuland must be a psychic or something…because her “F*** the EU” statement is about as precise a summary of Europe’s overall situation as you can get.
