What do you expect? “Transgender” girl on testosterone wins girls’ wrestling championship

For much of the mainstream press, there is a lot of sensationalism regarding the matter of sex changes. With the most prominent leading figure being that of Bruce Jenner getting himself mutilated so as to appear to be a woman, the media – even conservative media, have all engaged in the fantasy that you can be whatever sex you decide you think you are, just by thinking it. Chemical and physical alterations are seen by these people as “corrective” measures, to “fix” whatever it was that went wrong that a given person was “born the wrong sex.”

Living in such fantasy worlds creates many problems – moral, ethical, physical – you name it.

This week such an event happened, when a girl who thinks she should be a boy, and who is an adolescent, won a wrestling championship in Texas against other girls. Mackenzie Beggs, who is trying to go by the male variant of “Mack”, beat Chelsea Sanchez (a girl who has no identity problems with being who she is) in the Texas 6A 110 pound class. This was the second year in a row Mackenzie won the championship.

And in this news, most of the media happily jumps on the fantasy bandwagon, calling Mackenzie “he” when she is a she, and always will be. However, this sophistry allowed a major consideration to go all but unnoticed except by another girl, Kayla Fitts, who was 52-0 for the season before being beaten by Mackenzie this year:

I understand if you want to transition your gender,” she said. “I understand that totally. But there’s a time and a place.”

“You can do that after high school,” she continued. “Or if you want to do it, you can quit the sport. Because I don’t think it’s fair at all that you’re taking testosterone. That’s steroids. I know it’s not a lot. But still.”

Now, of course the media has neatly evaded reality. Mackenzie is taking 36mg of testosterone daily as she tries to complete a sex-change process, eventually intending to actually have body parts removed and altered so she will be something like a male.

But testosterone is a hormone that is largely responsible for the fact that men are bigger and usually stronger than women. Seen for what it does, strictly speaking, this is a performance enhancing drug as regards wrestling, and no other girl on any team would be allowed to use it for gaining strength and the ability to wrestle better.

However, because the matter of what the libs call “gender identity” is so important to liberals, who do not do well with most of the rest of reality, either, this girl is essentially allowed to game the system to her own advantage.

Now, it would honestly be absurd to think that Mackenzie is doing hormone therapy just to win wrestling championships. Her problem is much worse, along the lines of mental illness, but she is being aided and abetted in her own destruction by a media that is completely given to the pursuit of the false as real. This is not a presently “popular” point of view at all, because of incremental efforts that have been brought against the Biblically understood nature, not only of men and women, but of sex in general in the created world. The fact is that although there are creatures that are “asexual”, meaning, able to reproduce without genetic input from the same species of the opposite sex, mammals, and humans have never been this way. What one thinks is not the definition of what they are when it comes to this matter.

The incremental effort to redefine sex into the mutable word “gender” started at least forty years ago, and possibly more. In this abstract from Walter Gove’s article, The Relationship Between Sex Roles, Marital Status, and Mental Illness, we see the seeds of what has become popularly accepted today:

In modern Western societies women have higher rates of mental illness than men. In this article it is suggested that this difference can be attributed to the role of married women. More specifically, it is shown that married women have noticeably higher rates of mental illness than married men. In contrast, it is shown that when single women are compared with single men, divorced women with divorced men, and widowed women with widowed men, these women do not have rates of mental illness that are higher than their male counterparts. In fact, if there is a difference within these marital categories, it is that women have lower rates of mental illness.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

While this quote is lengthy, it is important to give it this fully, to establish context. It is from the first chapter of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Romans, and it was written for a very direct reason: The new Christian believers in Rome needed to understand how to regard homosexuality, which was considered normative in the Empire at that time. Paul gives here a didactic, explaining how this came to be, and with the clear connection to one factor – the rejection of God as God. Once this happened, Paul states, then things slowly began falling apart, first with the worship of things that are not God, but instead are reflections of human passions, and then proceeding from there.

It should be noted that the Western Roman Empire was beginning to disintegrate from within, and all this, for Paul, was visibly tied to the rejection of God as God.

If we apply this writing and look at the behavior of the liberal media and much of mainstream American society (as well as that of Western Europe, which often far outdoes the US in liberality), we can see the exact same characteristics being displayed. Perhaps the only difference between life 2,000 years ago and today is that we have technology available to further help us believe the lie we tell ourselves. Other than that, the same fundamental connection applies.

This is not really a religious point of view. To say it is would be to understand religion itself as an arbitrary set of rules set by a society. Many people believe this is so. But the reality expressed here is far deeper than human-chosen rules. It is more of an acknowledgement of the pre-existent reality of our nature as Man, anthropos, complete with contraindications just like there would be about any drug one might take. One need not believe in gravity in order to fall down. Gravity happens no matter what we think about it. In the same way, it appears that human beings are indeed “built” a certain way, and that way has, as a major component, the need to stay close to a Source, and a Law that we may not always like, but which has the ability to keep us from destroying ourselves.

For Mackenzie, and many like her, the fact that this underpinning principle has been removed by the court of public opinion, is a tragedy. While her story will gain adulation from the liberals, once it is over, the liberals will do what always happens – abandon and then condemn her for what she has done, and her state will be far worse than before.
